A Guide to Using Durant School's Parent Place
Below are some guidelines to help you better access information on the Parent Place site.
- To login to Parent Place, you will need the credentials letter provided by the school. If you have not received a letter, please contact your child's school site to get the login information you need.
- Login using the username and generic password provided. Once logged in using the generic password, look to the top right of the window and click the "change password" link to change the password to something you can remember
- Your first look at the site will be in the Mizuni Dashboard. Here, you will be able to view the names of all of your students in the "Students At-A-Glance" section. Also, you can quickly view your student schedules in the "Current Schedules" section. By clicking on your student name, you open the "Student Viewer" window.
The Student Viewer window will show all of the information that the school currently has on file for your student. At the top, you can click through the tabs to view the data in each area. Below is a summary of each tab.
- General Tab: The general tab lists basic information about your student. Summary shows grade, teacher, birthdate, mailing address, student phone number and email address on file. Contacts list each of the contacts that you have specified for your student. As you click on each contact on the left, their personal contact information is listed. Demographics shows personal information about the student's gender, ethnicity and birthplace. Family Info will show if there are other students in the school district that are in the same family as the student. If any of this information in incorrect, you should contact your student's school office.
- Enrollment Tab: This tab will show the current enrollment or history of enrollment for your student. You must click on Current Enrollment or All Enrollment to see information.
- Schedule Tab: The schedule tab allows you to look at current or historical scheduling information for your student by clicking the corresponding headings.
- Attendance Tab: To view attendance details by day, period, or for prior years, choose the appropriate heading, then use the drop down selection boxes to select that time period/class periods that you would like to view.
- Assessment Tab: The assessment tab allows you to see in text or chart style the results of your student's state tests. You may view all of the tests that we have on file, back to 2004. The Results heading will show text data, while the Learning Standards heading will show graphical information. State Testing begins at the 3rd grade level, so your student will only have results if he has completed the 3rd grade.
- Grades Tab: The grades tab will show current or historical grades for your student based on your heading selection. Grades are updated during the evening each Friday. The following codes will help you understand the grades shown:
- Period is the hour of each class
- Teacher is the current teacher of that period
- Course is the name of the class
- Grade type is a standard type for the district and can be ignored.
- PR1, PR2, PR3 and PR4 indicate a Progress Report. S1 and S2 indicate transcript grades for each Semester.
- Other Tab: The other tab will list Meal Information and Library Information (coming soon) for your student.
